Schiller Park

We had a late start while we waited for the rain to clear.  Rain wasn't in the forecast, but obviously "mother nature" doesn't care what the weather man has to say about her.  Thankfully it cleared out rather quickly and the sun shined for the latter part of the races.  Everyone put forth a great effort and we had several runners finishing in the top 10:  9th place, 6th place, 5th place and 2nd place!

Great job, everyone!!!

It started out bright and sunny.

5th and 6th grade girls
started up after the rain finally lightened up a bit
(as you can see, umbrellas were still necessary for the first part of the race!).

Coming down the big hill.

Heading toward the finish line in 9th place.  Way to go!

5th and 6th grade boys

A great finish in 5th place!!!

7th and 8th grade boys

Crossing the finish line in 2nd place!

Close behind in 6th place.

A well-deserved rest.

See you all on Monday in Schaumburg for Meet #3!!!

One Down, Three to Go!

And don't blink because you might miss one of them!
There are four meets in a span of 2-1/2 weeks, so the Cross Country season is going to fly.
Today was the first of the four.  The setting was Thatcher Woods.  We had some returning runners and several new ones.  The rain threatened at times, but overall things stayed dry (except for the muddy ground from the previous hours of rain!).
Everyone put forth a good effort.  Way to go, Warriors!

Final instructions from Coach Goffron.

Warming up.

We are SOOOOO ready!!

5th and 6th Grade Girls

Well run, everyone!
Hopefully I'll have some stats up later on as I get more information, but I wanted to post the pictures in the meantime for everyone to enjoy.

See you on Friday at Schiller Park!!!
